Who to Blame?

Posted by BamaDAD on September 13. He is the father of a Alabama player.

You understand that when we win Saturday

People will say we still haven't beaten anybody.
They will say SC doesn't have any talent.
SC was too beaten up from the UGA game.
SC hasn't beaten anyone this year.

When we beat Arkansas ...
People will say we still haven't beaten anybody.
They will say Ark. doesn't have any talent.
Ark. was too beaten up from the USC game.
Ark. hasn't beaten anyone this year.

When we beat Florida,
people will say that they have a new coach.
Fla. was too beat up from playing Tenn. and Kentucky back to back.
Florida hasn't beaten a quality team all year.

When we beat Ole Miss, Utah State, and Miss. State,
people will complain that we didn't beat them badly enough.
We made too many mistakes to be a championship team.

When we beat UT people will say
UT was rusty from the week off.
They will say UT suffers from having too many QB's.
They will say UT was too confident.
They will say Fulmer was distracted by death threats.

When we beat LSU they will blame Katrina.
They will blame having a new coach.
They will blame the refs.
They will blame the defensive coordinator.

When we beat Auburn
Tubby will blame his players.
Tubby will blame his coordinators.
Tubby will blame a cheap shot from a Bama player.
Tubby will blame, and continue blaming anyone but himself.

When we win the SEC Championship game
they will blame the league for being down this year.
They will blame all the new coaches in the league.
They will blame our proximity to the Georgia Dome.
They will blame our rabid fans for buying the best players.

When we beat USC in the championship game
they will blame the time change.
They will blame USC's over-confidence.
They will blame the loss of Norm Chow.
They will blame the difficulties of repeating as champion.

... If they want to blame someone - they should blame
Ken Darby, Tim Castille, and Brody Croyle for not realizing that they weren't supposed to be 100% after their surgeries.

They should blame Wallace Gilberry, Tyrone Prothro, Rudy Griffin, Ramzee Robinson, and Demeco Ryans for not realizing that the experts declared them not good enough to make a difference on an SEC team.

They should blame Glen Coffee, Marlon Davis, Charles Hoke, Travis McCall, Jimmy Johns, and Bobby Greenwood for not realizing that True Freshmen don't make significant contributions on an SEC team.

They should blame Cody Davis, Chris Capps, Antione Caldwell, B.J. Stabler, Kyle Tatum, and Nick Walker for growing up faster than expected.

They should blame J.B. Closner, Roman Harper, Freddie Roach, Charlie Peprah, and Anthony Madison for becoming leaders.

They should certainly blame Coach Mike Shula for not listening to the fans and the media when they demanded he fire Coach Joe Kines.

They should blame Coach Joe Kines for being an old dog that stays hungry to learn new tricks. ....

But most of all, they should blame the heart and pride of the men in crimson. They have been too busy earning the right to be called champion to worry about who's to blame.

Roll Tide.
