What sort of sad fella takes the occasion of our first SEC road game to point out how different our program is from it's 1978, 1979, or 1992 incarnation?

The same kind of guy that sits around and waxes poetic about how warm the candle was when he was coloring the books in his library.

That kind of guy.

Well the candle is gone...and now the spotlight glares...in mega watt light.

In '78, if we'd had an internet, we'd all have been subjected to the rambling idiocy spewed forth by folks who felt as if Wayne Hamilton should've kept good pad level versus Anthony Munoz in the USC game. And why, by-God, couldn't David Hannah get good penetration versus Brad Budde? And Charles White? Student body right/left...what a joke. Dammit, didn't Ken Donahue know what was coming? And the SC fullbacks, Lynn Cain and Marcus Allen? Why aren't Wingo, Scott and Krauss filling the hole versus these guys? Those guys suck.

How'd we finish in '78?

The point I'm trying to make is, this weekend notwithstanding, some folks are going to be carrying more athletes into battle versus us. And I think we'd be better served supporting, as Coach Norman Dale says, "who we are...and not who we are not."

It occurs to me that, someone, might realize that we're carrying 70-something initial grant-in-aids into battle versus folks that haven't received the rectal blowtorching we have. A handful of you refuse to acknowledge the situation we are in. Why not? You imbeciles make eloquent arguments in favor of the other side. Why can't you channel your obvious acumen in a more positive direction? Is there no sense to the folks who can see not only the road, but the road blocks as well? Or are you simply laden by agenda? Or are you merely dense?

And most of all, our head guy and his staff haven't done any blinking, nor any excuse making. They've all been forged by the same fire. The fire that burns the weak, but strengthens the strong. And we'll be strong again, sooner moreso than later.

We'll have a level playing field versus these asses.

And I don't want to be one of the guys that sat around punking on them during the down times. Cause I want to rise up and have fun annhilating folks' tiny little pansy asses when we get back.
