The State of Things
The State of Things
How things change in such a short time.
2 weeks ago The Alabama nation all believed that we were back. We were ready to take on USC or Texas and we all were flying high fueled by our teams 9 – 0 start.
In the days since Auburn beat BAMA 28 – 18 I have seen all kinds of buzz on the message boards. Some of the stuff I have seen is utterly ridiculous. People want to blame someone and so far Coach Shula, Connelly, Cheese, The O line and Brodie seem to be taking most of the blame.
It is sad really.
Does it matter that Brodie has been playing with Broken ribs for about 5 games now? Nope – not to the Internet message board junkies.
What about Coach Connelly? His blocking scheme has been ridiculed and pointed to as the reason for the last 2 losses. Does it matter that JB broke his leg, arguably the one Lineman that we could not loose – not because of talent but his ability to make the right blocking calls. Again the Internet message board junkies do not care.
Is it coach Harbinson’s fault that since Prothro went down our Wide receivers have been able to be double covered on passing downs and mauled on the other downs.
Is it The NCAA sanctions that have us playing with 10 fewer players AND a roster made up of walk-ons?
Is it Fran’s fault? After all he only recruited 1 Offensive lineman in his 2 years here and took him (Grant Dickey) with him to Texas A and M.
As far as it goes I don’t know and I don’t care.
You will have to excuse me for being excited in the direction we are headed. We have a great young enthusiastic coach who is willing give the credit to others and take the blame himself.
A coach that never makes excuses, and has a true love for the University of Alabama.
Oh and in case any one needs to be reminded even with all of that said we are the #3 team in the SEC – and with all of the crap we have been through – that ain’t to bad in my book.
Big deal this year LSU and Auburn had better teams than us. But Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Kentucky, Georgia and Tennessee didn’t.
Now lets go win a bowl game and close up this great recruiting class.
Stop your bitching and get behind the Tide.
