Recruiting Update

OK there is enough rumor out there to make some smoke.

Some of this is repeat from this morning - however

QB news seems to be getting louder.
There is a lot of rumor out there that Mitch Mustain the #1 QB in the nation has contacted the Athletic Department and Coach Shula. It is rumored that he will take official visits to Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

Also I keep hearing that Greg McElroy will attend the Alabama Bowl Practice out in Texas. It is being rumored that he would commit to BAMA if extended a Written offer.

Andre Smith will not go to Florida. In fact if Andre plays anywhere but Alabama then i fully expect donkey's to be flying in a frozen over hadies.

I have been asked a lot about Patrick Hanrahan. In everything I have been able to read about the Bowl practice and mid year players reporting I have not heard anything on Patrick Hanrahan. I have asked a very close friend to check it out and will know soon. I know he was a student during the fall. I will update As Soon as I find out anything.

Spots are closing up fast. we have 20 verbals right now. We also have a few guys that BAMA is very hopeful to get Verbals from.

Understand this is just my guess but IMHO it is close. In the case of Mustain or McElroy I beilieve we could get a commit from one but the staff has to decide if they want to risk loosing Earl Alexander. We will see some left off no doubt because they waited to long.

I think Andre is the only recruit left that we will wait untill signing day on - we would perhaps wait on Hawthorne and Peanut as well.

Now could we have a private from some of the guys and wait for them to announce on Signing day? Sure but they better not visit a school like the Barn, UGA, UF etc etc. a visit to a school like Louisville from a private would be OK - again just speculation.

Right now we are ranked #7 in Rivals Recruiting Rankings in a virtual Tie with #6 Ranked LSU - Scout has not updated recently - they will update as the US Army High School All American game on January the 7th gets closer and during the game as schools get commitments.
